Richard Bainbridge pays Astley a visit

Richard Bainbridge, Chef and Patron of Benedicts Restaurant, Norwich and BBC 2’s Great British Menu winner 2015, came to visit Astley Primary School today to lead sessions in baking.

Pupils across the year groups had the opportunity to take part.

Richard also lead an assembly with older pupils to talk about his career working in hospitality.

This visit is particularly special as his own two daughters are pupils at Astley in both Reception Class and Year 4 and his eldest daughter was his fantastic kitchen assistant, lending a helping hand with the younger year groups.

Richard led class groups in the various stages of scone making and the pupils got to taste the results topped with special jams that Richard brought in from his restaurant.
