Extra Curricular

We actively encourage children to participate in Extra Curricular Activities throughout their time at Astley. These all support and extend the children’s learning in many curriculum areas and aspects of social development. We offer a wide variety of clubs which are well attended by children throughout the school.

Information regarding each club is sent out to parents in advance. If a club is cancelled parents are informed in writing or by our school text messaging service. Our clubs include Football, Running, Cricket, Dance, Energy Club, Knit and Stitch, Sign Language, Cricket and Code/ICT.

Our Football Team and Netball Team are selected from those children who regularly attend the after school club. The children then participate in the leagues within our cluster.

Peripatetic Music Tuition

We offer children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 music tuition during the school day. Children have the opportunity to learn to play a range of string instrument and the keyboard. The lessons are taught by qualified music teachers who visit the school on a particular day. Our Year 3 children are lucky enough to learn the steel drums every week. Our Year 4 children all learn to play the guitar as a class. This is an excellent opportunity for these children to have opportunities to learn a musical instrument.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
