Achievements and Rewards

Head Teacher’s Award

Mrs Goakes awards one pupil from each class every half term for outstanding behaviour and attitude to school.

ACE Fine Dining and Fast Passes

We have a fantastic team of Midday Supervisors who work and support our children during the lunchtime hour. During the hour they support the children in the dinner hall as well as organising our activities. The children enjoy their lunchtime activities including; football, basketball, skipping, drawing, the adventure playground and huff and puff.

Throughout the week all Midday Supervisors observe the children and select four KS1 children who have shown super behaviour and ACE attitudes to have an ACE Fine Dining Experience.  They can bring a friend and have a special table laid up for them with flowers, table cloths and even table service!  KS2 children get awarded an ACE Fast Pass with a friend so they can go in first for lunch.

Learning Heroes

Each class teacher selects children in their class who have worked exceptionally or showed outstanding behaviour throughout the week. These children are awarded a Learning Hero Certificate and these are presented in a whole school Achievement Assembly on Fridays. Parents are more than welcome to attend.

Hot Chocolate with the Head

Every week we have a #hotchocfri!  All week staff can nominate either children or grown-ups who have gone above and beyond that week and have shown super attitudes.  Mrs Goakes then hosts Hot Chocolate in her office with marshmallows, biscuits and music!  It is such a special experience.

Out of School Achievements

Our children at Astley all work extremely hard in and out of school. We are proud of all their achievements however big or small they may be. Children are given the opportunity to share these experiences and achievements in our Friday assembly. These may range from swimming, dancing, football to singing competitions.

Star of the week

Each class votes for a member of the class who they think deserves to be star of the week. They may choose their class member for a variety of reasons from being a kind friend, for always working hard in class or for helping them with their work etc.  The certificate is awarded in our special Friday assembly. Parents are invited to attend weekly to see if their child is the lucky one that week!

Attendance

Astley Primary School encourages good attendance at school.  Every half term we award the class with the best attendance a certificate.

Community Sports Partnership

As part of the Community Sports Partnership programme who come into school to work with children an award is given on a weekly basis to a pupil who has shown particular sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and good attitude in developing their skills.

Remarkable Readers

A certificate is awarded each half term for one child per class making remarkable progress in their reading.  Their name then goes into a draw with the chance of being chosen to win a kindle at the end of the school year!
