Claire Newstead

Trust Appointed Governor

I'm Claire Newstead, I have joined the governance team as Parent/Associate governor.

I currently have one child at Astley, with one due to start in Foundation stage.

I've been running my own hairdressing business for 8+ years. My career has seen me teach and assess NVQ 2&3, manage a busy hair & beauty salon in the city, as well as work for a global superbrand of the industry.

I'm also an active member on the Friends Commitee, helping raise funds to support the schools need for resources and teaching aids etc.

I have lived in North Norfolk since 1981, and attended a small village church school. When I look back, this school had a great relationship with the community, with the church, and the parents, many of whom were involved with the friends. It was this unity that helped the children thrive in their education. It is with this philosophy that I intend to help Astley continue to deliver a high standard of education and varied opportunities to the children.

Term of office: 11.11.22 - 10.11.26

Meeting Attendance: 100%

Business and Pecuniary Interests: Nil interest
