Our School
I’m Maria Hodge, Vice-Chair of Governors at Astley Primary School and a proud parent of three children who all attend the school. I am a qualified teacher with a range of experience across both specialist and mainstream education. I began my career teaching in a Special Educational Needs school before working across several mainstream schools in Norfolk as a teacher, SENCo, and senior leader.
I hold a master's degree in education, the National SENCo Award, and have recently completed the NPQH qualification. Throughout my career, I have taught across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and have also led and taught within nurture provision.
I currently work for the Virtual School for Children in Care as an Advisory Teacher. I am particularly passionate about inclusion and ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive, succeed, and feel valued within their school community.
