Miss Edgeley

I have been a Key Stage 2 teacher for four years now and have spent most of my time in Years 4 and 5. This is my first year at Astley Primary School and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching Penguin Class (Year 5); equipping the children with skills to become life-long learners and encouraging their creativity and curiosity. I completed my NPQLT in 2025 and am passionate about inclusion and reading for pleasure. I currently run an after-school Reading Club each week for pupils to discover their love for reading, have an opportunity to read 1:1 with an adult, develop their comprehension skills and apply for a Blue Peter reading badge! I’m very proud of the success of my club and I strongly believe if a child does not love reading, they have not found the right book yet!

Alongside my teaching role, I am also the D.T and R.E Curriculum Lead.  I am passionate about both of these subjects as they allow the children at Astley to become resilient, problem-solvers alongside tolerant, empathetic global citizens who are prepared for the ever-changing world around them.

I am a life-long learner myself and I am always wanting to be better and make a positive contribution. I hope my role as Staff Governor can allow me to do this. Outside of teaching, you can find me reading, going to concerts, theatres or comedy shows, photography, travelling , gaming or crazy golfing!
